Curtis Gulledge Sr.

Curtis is currently the vocal music director for Dream Life Center Church in Orlando, Florida, and Vocal Coach/Founder of  C. Sharply Management.   Before relocating to Orlando, Curtis worked throughout southwest Michigan as a vocal music teacher, minister of music, workshop conductor, praise and worship leader, and choral music director for several shows, churches, schools, and companies.

Curtis graduated from Western Michigan University with a BA in music.  While studying at WMU Curtis was the director of the Voices of WMU, a member of Collegiate Singers, Gold Company II, and University Chorale.  Curtis was a featured soloist while touring Russia with the University Chorale.  He received national acknowledgements for his show stopping performance of the Broadway hit musical “DREAMGIRLS”, as a freshmen actor.  These memorable performances lead to many shows as an actor and music director for Washington Productions.

Curtis has a remarkable ability for writing a song for any occasion that inspires and uplifts all who hear it.  He has performed original compositions, sang with, and recorded with some of gospel music’s greats, including Edwin Hawkins, Walter Hawkins, The Clark Sisters, Vickie Winans, and many more.   He was invited to perform as a solo artist and as the choir director for the BHHS Madrigals at the International Industry Retreat with Dr. Bobby Jones, in Las Vegas, Nevada.  In 2010 Curtis was the guest conductor for the Kalamazoo High School Choir as they sang one of his original compositions for their graduation commencement where President Barak Obama was the guest speaker.

Curtis has recorded two gospel CD’s.  On both recordings all songs were written and or arranged by him. The recordings feature Curtis’s amazing talent as a choir director, singer, and writer.    Curtis has now been vocal coaching in the Orlando area since 2011 and has trained over 300 students with ages ranging from 5 to 75. His ability to train in Classical, Music Theater, Gospel, R&B, Hip-Hop, and Jazz allow the opportunity to reach many. Curtis has helped many students to reach great heights in auditions, call backs and recording sessions.

He is noted as the Positive Vocal Coach that designs his training styles to stimulate skills and mindset. Curtis has been working with Magic Curtain Community theater as music director for the main stage shows and performance troupes. His musical direction has awarded the troupes excellence in music trophies for several years at the Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta, Ga and for the Disney Performing Arts Festival. He has also been nominated for several awards for his music direction at Timber Creek High School’s Music Theatre Class. He and his beautiful wife Shirica have 3 children; Curtis Jr., Casey, and Christa.
